Ayodhya, July 6:  Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has accepted the resignation of general secretary Champat Rai and named Bajrang Bagra as his successor. The decision marks the most substantial administrative session for the governing body since its initial formation in 2020.

The executive session, held within the temple grounds, was structured to address current operational challenges and refine organizational oversight. While Rai was present on the temple premises during the day, he did not participate directly in the formal council discussions. The assembled board, consisting of state representatives, religious leaders, and legal specialists, concentrated on stabilizing the internal management framework.

The trust expressed full cooperation with the relevant agencies handling the current donation inquiry. An administrative source declared, “The trust is moving forward with systemic upgrades to strengthen the management of this historic institution while cooperating fully with the ongoing regulatory assessments.”

The organizational shift comes on the heels of law enforcement actions taken late last month, where authorities detained eight individuals, including a driver associated with the former general secretary, in connection with an ongoing investigation into donation discrepancies. Officials asserted that the internal transitions are designed to safeguard the administrative integrity of the prominent religious site.

Commenting on the long-term vision of the board, a senior trustee asserted, “Our commitment to managing this sacred space with the highest level of artistic integrity, conviction, and purpose remains entirely unwavering as we transition into this new administrative phase.”
