Khanna, July 12: A massive security mobilization by the Khanna police has led to the arrest of 476 suspects as part of a state-backed campaign targeting narcotics networks and anti-social elements. The 24-hour enforcement drive under Operation Prahaar 3.0 successfully neutralized several local gangs operating out of disguised warehouses and unauthorized medical setups.
The comprehensive operation resulted in the discovery of two illegal de-addiction facilities operating without regulatory approvals, alongside an unlicenced chemist shop managed by an individual with a past criminal record. The concurrent tactical raids also put an end to an illicit liquor manufacturing syndicate that packaged cheap local spirits inside authentic, high-end branded bottles for maximum profit.
The crackdown resulted in an extensive haul of dangerous narcotics and prohibited substances. Field units detailed the recovery of 247.6 grams of heroin, 100 kilograms of poppy husk, 3 kilograms of ganja, 1.4 kilograms of opium, and 380 banned capsules. Cash generated from illegal drug sales totaling ₹13,250 was also seized by the state.
The police managed to recover a massive cache of stolen transportation assets, disrupting a criminal cell that tampered with engine and chassis markings to pass off stolen vehicles as legitimate second-hand products. The recovered fleet consisted of eight commercial trucks, five two-wheelers, and one four-wheeler, alongside smaller personal items like four mobile phones and a silver chain.
“We are taking a strict approach to ensure law and order is maintained across all sectors,” Khanna Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Darpan Ahluwalia declared regarding the operation. “Our personnel also took two .32 bore pistols, four live cartridges, and three traditional knives off the streets.”
The district administration stated that the operation remains fluid, with specialized cyber units now expanding their focus into online spaces. A large batch of offensive internet URLs dedicated to glorifying weapons and promoting organized violence has been handed over to the State Cyber Crime Cell to ensure the immediate termination of the profiles.
