Chandigarh, May 13: Minister Aman Arora declared Tuesday that transforming Punjab into a preferred investment destination is the top priority of his newly assigned Industries and Commerce portfolio. Speaking after assuming office at Udyog Bhawan, Arora affirmed that the state would focus on promoting sustainable industries that align with the government’s green energy goals.
The minister maintained that the state’s approach would shift toward ensuring that industrial development leads to high-quality local jobs. He noted that his existing responsibilities in Skill Development and Information Technology would complement the new role, allowing for a more comprehensive strategy toward economic growth.
“The state is building a circular economy where growth, green energy and employment go hand in hand,” Arora declared. He asserted that the government is dedicated to creating a transparent environment that fosters innovation and supports entrepreneurs.
Arora expressed his appreciation to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the party leadership for the opportunity to lead the department. During a briefing with senior officials, including CEO of Invest Punjab Amit Dhaka and Administrative Secretary Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, the minister stated that ongoing projects must be accelerated. He affirmed that the administration remains committed to cutting red tape and ensuring that Punjab remains competitive in the global market.
