Panchkula, July 13: A comprehensive sanitation campaign has been launched across Haryana following an administrative drive led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Panchkula. The five-day state-wide effort focuses on public market cleanups, community waste management, and neighborhood plantation drives ahead of scheduled central developmental inaugurations later this week.
The campaign structure relies heavily on community involvement to transform daily waste disposal habits into a shared civic responsibility. Local administrators, members of parliament, and party office-bearers have received field assignments to lead individual neighborhood cleaning sessions through Friday afternoon.
The administrative head joined sanitation workers and local residents to clear debris from the Sector 20 market area. “Cleanliness is a collective responsibility,” Saini declared during his interaction with community organizers, advising residents to maintain public spaces as effectively as their own households.
The state-wide preparation aligns with the scheduled arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 17 to greenlight major regional infrastructure upgrades. Beyond the launch of a new hydrogen-powered train, the visit will focus on broader sustainability goals, matching Saini’s recent vow to support active afforestation. “The preliminary assessment suggested that the blaze might have been caused by an electrical short circuit,” Saini affirmed when discussing infrastructure checks, while adding that the state-wide plantation drive remains a core pillar of the ongoing public welfare campaign.
