Bhubaneswar, July 13: Devastating news reached coastal fishing communities after search teams located the missing vessel Joy Ma Kali, ending days of tense waiting for anxious relatives. Emergency workers pumped water out of the damaged hull to discover the trapped remains of nine crew members, while joint teams simultaneously scan the open ocean for six missing mariners.

The state administration immediately moved to provide emergency relief and logistical support to the affected fishing villages. Sundarban Development Minister Dipankar Jana affirmed that rescue operations were launched immediately after the trawler went missing, maintaining that the government stands entirely by the families and will provide swift financial assistance.

The long-range fishing trip turned tragic after the crew, consisting of fifteen members from Odisha and East Medinipur, went completely silent three days into their voyage. Rescuers led by the Sundarban Tiger Reserve administration finally spotted the wreckage roughly 35 kilometers off the Bakkhali coast, discovering the first victim wedged near the engine room after dusk.

Organizers within the local maritime sector noted that the incident underscores the extreme perils faced by the region’s seafaring workforce. Association leaders asserted that the search parameters will remain wide until every section of the surrounding water is fully explored, as authorities suspect additional victims might still be caught in the nearby currents.
