New Delhi, July 25: Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke maintained that the campaign seeking reforms in competitive examinations and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will proceed without interruption, despite testing positive for typhoid. Medical evaluations confirmed the diagnosis after several days of symptoms, prompting a course of daily intravenous drips. Speaking via a video message posted online, Dipke reassured supporters that his treatment schedule would not soften the party’s stance regarding official accountability.
Acknowledging the effort of party members maintaining peaceful demonstrations in multiple states, Dipke expressed confidence in the ultimate outcome of the collective action.
“The treatment is ongoing… but I want to thank all the cockroaches protesting peacefully across the country,” Dipke stated, adding that continued peaceful demonstrations would eventually force Pradhan to step down.
The agitation focuses on addressing alleged flaws within the national entrance and recruitment testing systems, alongside seeking political responsibility from top educational leadership. Organizers reiterated that the gathering at Jantar Mantar will continue indefinitely until the Union Minister demits office.
This commitment follows weeks of heightened civic engagement, including a fast undertaken by activist Sonam Wangchuk regarding exam paper leaks. Following hospitalizations and subsequent court directives permitting specialized care, central authorities engaged in direct dialogue with the activist. Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh presented written commitments covering parliamentary deliberations on testing reforms, protection for peaceful participants, and potential financial redress for impacted families, leading to the conclusion of Wangchuk’s fast.
