Phagwara, August 13: A major spiritual event in Kapurthala brought together public figures and citizens for an evening dedicated to cultural reflection and state achievements. AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal alongside Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann joined worshippers in Phagwara for the ‘Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv Ke Naam’ bhajan sandhya, marking one of twenty-three such events organized across the state.
The assembly highlighted major public welfare programs operating alongside state-supported cultural and pilgrimage infrastructure.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal affirmed that Punjab’s executive leadership continues to prioritize the care of senior citizens through expanded pilgrimage schemes. He maintained that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has consistently dedicated himself to serving the state’s senior population with deep personal commitment.
Detailing specific religious tourism programs, Arvind Kejriwal declared that travel arrangements under the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme now encompass key holy sites including Mathura, Vrindavan, Haridwar, and Rishikesh. He asserted that state efforts behind such spiritual programs reflect a broader commitment to supporting Sanatan Dharma traditions across the region.
Turning to temple restoration plans, Arvind Kejriwal stated that an eighty crore rupee redevelopment project for the historical Kali Mata Temple in Patiala is set to begin in October. He maintained that the initiative will offer enhanced facilities for visitors seeking blessings at the site.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that Punjab’s strong tradition of mutual respect ensures that social unity remains intact despite external challenges. He maintained that people from diverse backgrounds attended the devotional gathering, illustrating the state’s shared cultural bond.
Outlining administrative achievements, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that public convenience remains central to state policy, highlighting the closure of nineteen toll gates that saved commuters substantial daily funds. He maintained that major investments continue across power, employment, and road construction, alongside agricultural support through improved canal irrigation networks.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that under the Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana, direct monthly funds are actively reaching bank accounts, with comprehensive budgetary backing ensuring near-universal coverage for women across Punjab.
