POLICE APPREHEND KEY ACCUSED IN HUMAN TRAFFICKING RACKET

Bahadurgarh officials dismantle compartmentalized network following multi-state raid

Muktsar Sahib, August 17: The Bahadurgarh Police successfully located and apprehended Pargat Singh, the primary suspect behind an interstate infant trafficking operation, during a targeted raid in Sri Muktsar Sahib. Operating with a five-thousand-rupee reward on his arrest, Pargat Singh had continuously altered hideouts across multiple states to avoid capture over the past four months. The operation also resulted in the arrest of co-accused Mukhpal Singh, taking the cumulative arrest count in the ongoing case to twenty-three individuals.

“Our priority remains identifying every link in this chain, from initial procurement from parents to final transfers across various states,” stated Deputy Commissioner of Police Mayank Mishra regarding the case developments. “Both individuals have been taken into eight days of police remand, allowing our team to thoroughly interrogate them and establish full accountability across all active modules.”

According to official disclosures, the syndicate disguised its activities under the pretext of formal adoption, relying on a complex web of family associates and local handlers. To protect the central leadership, the network restricted operational information, paying intermediate agents purely through cash commissions ranging between five and ten percent per transaction.

Police teams had previously conducted several raids targeting suspected hideouts across Punjab and neighboring states after Pargat fled during a March 31 police action. With the core leadership now in custody, investigators are working to verify records, track financial trails, and identify additional individuals who facilitated the procurement or purchase of infants through the syndicate.
