Channi Announces Anti-Corruption Strategy for Punjab

Former Chief Minister Clarifies CWC Absence Citing Master's Degree Examinations

Chandigarh, August 20: Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi unveiled key campaign proposals focusing on social welfare and governance reforms in preparation for upcoming state elections. The former Chief Minister promised to establish an administrative framework designed to eliminate corrupt practices among public employees while guaranteeing free public education and medical care.

 

The lawmaker declared his intention to implement structural reforms based on recent research.

 

“The poor and middle class should get better benefits from the welfare system,” Charanjit Singh Channi declared. “Education and healthcare will be completely free.”

 

Channi also addressed media queries regarding his absence from the national leadership meeting in New Delhi, explaining that he was sitting for higher education exams in Chandigarh.

 

“I told the party High Command that I did not want to miss my examination for a meeting that takes place every month,” Charanjit Singh Channi affirmed.

 

Political activity across the state is increasing as parties prepare for the 2027 electoral contest following the 2022 election results that established the current administration.
