NEW DELHI, AUGUST 23: Law enforcement agencies in the national capital have launched a formal investigation into the death of a 30-year-old Defence Ministry official whose body was recovered from her home in Dwarka on Friday. Authorities confirmed that the deceased, who joined the Ministry as an Assistant Section Officer, was three months pregnant when the incident occurred just months after her marriage in April.
Police personnel reached the scene shortly after receiving an emergency call and secured the site for preliminary examination before transferring the body for post-mortem analysis. Officials maintained that the victim locked herself inside a room following a personal dispute, with entry eventually gained using a spare key in the presence of her spouse.
Although the family initially withheld formal allegations during early proceedings, they later submitted an official complaint before the Sub-Divisional Magistrate accusing the husband and in-laws of physical and mental harassment. Police representatives declared that a criminal case charging the accused with cruelty and abetment has been formally registered, with investigators gathering forensic and physical evidence to establish the full sequence of events.
