Mohali, August 26: Aam Aadmi Party Parliamentarian Malvinder Singh Kang has raised serious concerns regarding administrative functioning in Mohali following an enforcement action by the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority in Saini Majra village. The Anandpur Sahib MP criticized the selective demolition of small commercial shops in his constituency, asserting that corrupt practices within the authority were targeting vulnerable shopkeepers.
Detailing the incident, Malvinder Singh Kang declared that the state government must intervene to stop corrupt practices within the urban development body. He affirmed that officers receiving bribes spare certain structures while directing demolitions against small vendors who cannot afford payments. He maintained that he personally contacted GMADA Chief Administrator Sandeep Rishi to object to the selective enforcement, declaring that the administration must maintain absolute fairness or issue proper warnings before taking action.
The lawmaker declared that it is high time the state leadership takes decisive action against corrupt officials and protects small earning shopkeepers from undue hardship. He asserted that he will personally lead a protest demonstration against the development authority’s management to ensure justice for affected villagers.
Malvinder Singh Kang’s comments follow several previous public statements where he addressed key public issues across Punjab. Over the past year, he has highlighted matters related to the land pooling policy, farmer grievances in Bathinda, illegal sand mining, and organizational communication within the political setup.
