Jalandhar: The Enforcement Directorate has intensified its review of regulatory approvals granted to the Suntec City housing development in Mohali, questioning senior administrative officers regarding past statutory decisions. Former Chief Secretary Anurag Verma attended a scheduled inquiry at the agency’s Jalandhar office, providing official documentation relating to department approvals and land use modifications.
The ongoing probe examines compliance surrounding layout approvals and land status changes to determine whether established administrative processes were followed. Senior bureaucrat Kanwal Preet Brar previously provided statements regarding departmental permissions, while district police authorities have been requested to furnish relevant records connected to early land acquisition complaints. Official representatives emphasized that all procedural steps were taken under standard policy frameworks.
Central authorities stated that gathering official records and officer testimonies forms part of standard procedures under money-laundering verification protocols. The agency affirmed that the inquiry continues with a focus on assessing administrative documentation, establishing legal compliance, and examining financial records associated with the project.
