Patiala, August 26: Solemn ceremonies marked the final rites of Indian Air Force personnel Gurvinder Singh and his wife Loveleen Kaur in Samana, where their mortal remains were cremated with complete state honors following a fatal vehicle collision in Gujarat.
According to family accounts, 28-year-old Gurvinder Singh, a resident of Dhillon Colony in Samana, was riding a motorcycle with his 26-year-old wife Loveleen Kaur in Jamnagar on Sunday when a car crashed into their vehicle. The force of the impact knocked both riders onto the road, resulting in severe systemic trauma. Emergency responders transported the victims to a nearby hospital, where attending doctors pronounced both dead.
Stationed at the Jamnagar Air Force Base, Gurvinder Singh served as an LAC Auto Tech after joining the service nearly seven and a half years ago. The tragedy occurred shortly after the couple celebrated four months of marriage.
Representatives from the Indian Air Force accompanied the mortal remains back to Punjab, joining local administration figures, relatives, and neighbors to offer ceremonial honors. Community members maintained that the sudden loss has left the entire township in deep mourning as tributes poured in for the departed couple.
