NEW DELHI, AUGUST 27: Specialized law enforcement teams are searching for a suspect involved in the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old Delhi University student inside her residence near Mangla Hospital in Tilak Nagar. The victim was discovered with multiple stab wounds on the second floor of the building before being rushed to the hospital, where medical staff confirmed her passing.
Security camera recordings captured the suspect, an unemployed former gym trainer named Imran, entering the residential building around 5:40 pm on Wednesday. Police officials maintained that an argument escalated between the two individuals inside the house, resulting in the violent assault.
Forensic units and crime scene investigators arrived shortly after the incident to document evidence and secure the crime scene.
“A PCR call regarding the stabbing of a girl was received at Tilak Nagar Police Station at 7:24 pm,” affirmed Deputy Commissioner of Police Hareshwar V Swami, adding that formal murder charges have been filed following official statements from the family.
Authorities declared that a detailed post-mortem examination will determine the precise nature and extent of the fatal injuries. Investigators continue to analyze local footage and interview associates to trace the suspect’s escape route and secure an arrest.
