Bathinda A large-scale security operation was carried out in Bathinda district today as police personnel established cordon and search points in Sangat Kalan village and Sangat Mandi. The swift mobilization followed public attention surrounding a video shared online by the Shiromani Akali Dal regarding alleged drug sales in the locality.
Responding directly to the matter, Bathinda SP Headquarters Jagdish Bishnoi declared that around 20 persons were detained for questioning during the morning search drive. SP Bishnoi maintained that officers made recoveries during the operation and noted that official details would be provided following the formal filing of FIRs.
Initial law enforcement action in relation to the video has already resulted in the arrest of three persons, including one woman. Police officials identified those in custody as Harinder Singh, Manjinder Kaur, and Arunpreet Singh Gaggu, noting that a quantity of 9 grams of heroin was seized during that operation.
The public discussion began after SAD uploaded a 3.12-minute clip to its Facebook platform, drawing attention to local delivery speeds and calling for an immediate investigation. Party representatives asserted that the situation warranted prompt action by the state administration. Local authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining strict vigilance and maintaining safety across all villages in Bathinda.
