CHANDIGARH — The Aam Aadmi Party expanded its footprint in Doaba on Wednesday as Rantej Singh Powar, descendant of prominent Akali figures Giani Shankar Singh and Sardar Bir Singh, joined the ruling party in Chandigarh.
Greeting Powar during the induction, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that the continuous movement of individuals from diverse backgrounds into the party ranks underscores the rising credibility of AAP’s governance model. He maintained that public service must remain the central focus of any political endeavor, encouraging young citizens driven by commitment and enthusiasm to step forward for the development of Punjab.
The Chief Minister asserted that party representatives and workers carry an abiding responsibility to stay closely connected with local communities, address public grievances, and resolve issues effectively. He noted that Powar’s lineage and dedication would play a crucial role in strengthening the party’s organizational network, particularly in Jalandhar Cantonment.
Powar thanked the Chief Minister and party leadership for the welcome, declaring his firm resolve to dedicate his efforts toward serving the residents of Jalandhar Cantonment and the wider Doaba territory.
