UP Chief Minister joins senior ministers at Vidhan Bhawan as eight candidates submit papers

Lucknow, October 6: In a major political mobilization in Lucknow, eight Bharatiya Janata Party candidates formally submitted their nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha biennial elections on Tuesday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the nomination process at the Vidhan Bhawan on the final filing day, flanked by key union and state leaders.

The slate of candidates contesting the council of states seats features Dharampal Singh, Radhakant Ojha, Prakash Pal, Vidyasagar Sonkar, Gopi Krishna Pandey, Priyanka Singh Rawat, Ram Pratap Singh Chauhan, and Shruti Gangwar.

The filing event served as a major display of organizational strength, bringing together deputy chief ministers, state cabinet members, and ally leadership.

“With the blessings of the party leadership and the support of our legislators, all eight candidates are poised for success in the Rajya Sabha polls,” asserted Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, emphasizing that the candidate list reflects wide socio-political representation.

Government leaders affirmed that the upcoming legislative contingent will strengthen the state’s voice at the central level.

“Our candidates carry rich experience from grassroots activism and public service,” affirmed Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who noted that the unified presence of state leadership underscores full backing for the nominees.

Cabinet ministers including Dr. Sanjay Nishad, Kapildev Agarwal, JPS Rathore, Dinesh Pratap Singh, and Girish Chandra Yadav were also present as the candidates completed formal filing requirements before the returning officer.
