NEW DELHI, OCT 10: Environmental and social activist Sonam Wangchuk warned administrative authorities of fresh agitations unless thousands of citizens and political leaders held during Saturday’s capital protests are freed. Highlighting the mass detention of prominent opposition figures, Wangchuk stated that he would feel compelled to launch an “Anshan Fast” or a “Padyatra March” if the detained individuals remain in custody past Sunday.

The warning underscores escalating tensions following intense police interventions across New Delhi, which saw heavy barricading, transport suspensions, and the preventive custody of prominent figures protesting against alleged irregularities in the electoral roll revision process. Detained leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, criticized the aggressive enforcement strategy in public video messages, asserting that public mobilization against administrative policies will persist despite state restrictions.
