Judiciary Finalizes Verdict Following Extensive Testimony and Months of Hearings

by TheReportingTimes

MEERUT, OCT 14: Judicial authorities in Meerut have sentenced Muskan Rastogi and her associate Sahil Shukla to death for the brutal killing of merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput.

The judgment followed a fast-tracked trial comprising 126 separate hearings, during which the prosecution examined twenty-two witnesses to piece together the events surrounding the March 2025 homicide.

Investigators previously unraveled the case after locating the victim’s remains hidden inside a cement-filled blue drum, prompting a comprehensive inquiry that utilized hotel logs, cab records, and retail purchases to track the movements of the accused.

District Judge Arvind Kumar Mishra formally delivered the capital sentence after the court previously established the guilt of both individuals on charges of murder and evidence tampering. State prosecutors declared that the extensive witness testimonies and material evidence played a crucial role in securing the conviction. The defendants participated in the final court session through video-conferencing facilities as the judiciary concluded the sensational trial.
