Ludhiana, Oct 24: A violent confrontation in the Daba police station area left a 35-year-old resident dead under grim circumstances. Shakti Singh alias Bhura, a resident of Basant Nagar, died at the Civil Hospital while receiving medical attention for severe trauma.
The sequence of events began when assailants on motorcycles targeted Singh inside a house near Gurdwara Reru Sahib. The attackers utilized sharp weapons to inflict critical wounds, including severing the victim’s wrist, before assaulting the house owner.
In a macabre turn of events, the perpetrators left the severed hand inside an envelope at a nearby Satguru Nagar grocery store, directing the shopkeeper to deliver the package to the victim’s family home. Surveillance footage from the area has been secured, showing suspects fleeing on two motorcycles.
Inspector Jatinder Kumar declared that authorities arrived at the location following a morning control room dispatch. Preliminary investigations maintained that the homicide resulted from longstanding animosity between individuals with documented criminal histories.
