Chandigarh, Oct 30: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched its early preparation for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann confirming the upcoming release of the party’s initial candidate list.
The decision follows extensive deliberations held in New Delhi between CM Mann, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, and Punjab affairs coordinator Manish Sisodia. State leadership, including Punjab AAP chief Aman Arora and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, participated virtually to review potential nominees for all 117 legislative constituencies.
Officials stated that the party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) will conduct a final review before publishing the candidate list. By moving quickly to name candidates, AAP becomes the first major party in the state to begin formal candidate rollout for the upcoming assembly cycle.
Leaders maintained that early nomination gives candidates maximum runway to build local campaign infrastructure and engage directly with voters across their respective constituencies. Further tranches of candidates are expected as the PAC completes regional assessments across the state.
