Gulmarg, Dec. 19: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, affirmed on Thursday that the administration is fully prepared for the upcoming winter season and major events, ensuring all necessary preparations are on track.
Addressing the media in Handwara, Bidhuri confirmed that the Khelo India Games in Gulmarg are set to take place as planned. “Last year’s delayed snowfall affected the schedule, but this year we expect the games to be held on time,” he stated.
Bidhuri also emphasized the importance of promoting tourism in Kupwara, citing initiatives like the Bungus Festival. He added that Bungus has significant eco-tourism potential, and further efforts are being made to highlight it as a prominent attraction in the region.
On winter readiness, the Divisional Commissioner reassured that the administration has taken comprehensive measures to improve facilities compared to last year. “We are conducting regular reviews to ensure all arrangements are in place. This winter will certainly surpass last year’s preparations,” he assured.
