Panchkula, March 25 — Police arrested two men on March 22 for drug trafficking and recovered 13.42 gm of heroin from their possession in Panchkula.
The accused, identified as Naresh Kumar (38) from Shimla and Gaurav Sharma (33) from Solan, were apprehended near a gaushala in Sector 23. Acting on a tip-off, police set up a checkpoint at Majri Chowk and intercepted their vehicle. A search led to the recovery of heroin.
Officials said the duo procured drugs from Zirakpur and distributed them in Himachal Pradesh and Panchkula.
“They failed to produce any legal documentation for the drugs,” police said.
A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered at Chandimandir police station.
The two were presented in court and remanded to three-day police custody for further investigation into their drug network.
