Gorakhpur: The ceremonial rites of Sharadiya Navratri concluded at the Gorakhnath Temple as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the annual Kanya Pujan on Monday morning. Acting in his capacity as Gorakshpeethadhishwar, the leader performed ceremonial ablutions and offered traditional tributes to young girls gathered for the auspicious occasion. The rituals included the distribution of sacred adornments, floral tributes, and blessings administered under the guidance of presiding temple priests.
During the subsequent community feast arranged across multiple levels of the temple’s dining hall, the chief guest personally supervised the distribution of food offerings to all participating children. The traditional observance underscored long-standing cultural customs centered on reverence for female youth, concluding with morning prayers dedicated to the deity Maa Siddhidatri at the temple’s central shrine.
