Search and verification operations have intensified in Nepal’s Rasuwa district after a sudden surge in the Bhote Koshi River resulted in 384 travelers being reported missing. Preliminary records released by the Nepal Tourism Board confirm that 105 Indian nationals and 37 Non-Resident Indians are among those unaccounted for following the flood incident.
Details released by administrative authorities affirm that the data was compiled from records provided by 10 registered tour operators, including Kailash Journey, Fishtail Tours & Travels, Alpine Eco Trek, and Kathmandu Holiday Tours & Travels. Officials maintained that the list represents initial reports from local operators, asserting that emergency teams, Tourist Police, and local guides are actively verifying the physical location and safety status of every individual named.
The Tourism Board declared that travelers in Rasuwa district should remain calm and strictly adhere to guidance issued by local security agencies. Authorities stated that designated helpline numbers, including 1234 and 1144, have been activated to field inquiries and facilitate ground support.
In addition to Indian travelers, the missing foreign national count includes citizens from various countries, including Australia, the United States, the Netherlands, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. Rescue teams and district administrative personnel continue to trace trekking routes and tourist hubs throughout the Bhote Koshi river valley.
