Srinagar. March 28— Strong winds disrupted flight operations at Srinagar International Airport on Friday, leading to 22 cancellations and delays throughout the day.

An official said wind speeds of 17 knots, gusting up to 27 knots, affected operations. “The airport could accommodate only 11 arrivals and 11 departures from 6:30 a.m. to 4:50 p.m.,” he said.

Nine flights were canceled, while two others were diverted.

Meanwhile, strong winds also caused damage in parts of Srinagar. Independent forecaster Aadil Maqbool Mir said the gusts were likely to continue for another 1-2 hours across Jammu and Kashmir but would subside by evening.
