SHIRDI, May 4:— A male passenger was taken into custody on Friday for allegedly molesting an air hostess during an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Shirdi, Maharashtra, police said on Sunday.
The incident occurred near the lavatory of the aircraft when the accused, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, touched the air hostess inappropriately, according to a police official.
Disturbed by the incident, the air hostess immediately alerted the crew manager, who notified airport security upon landing.
The accused was detained by authorities as soon as the flight touched down at Shirdi airport on Friday afternoon.
He was subsequently taken to the Rahata police station, where a case of molestation was registered.
A medical examination later confirmed that the passenger had consumed alcohol prior to the incident.
“The accused has been served a notice,” said the police official, adding that further investigation is underway.
