NEW DELHI, June 24 — Air India announced on Tuesday that it will progressively resume flight operations to the Middle East starting June 25, as regional airspaces begin to reopen following temporary closures due to escalating tensions earlier this week.
The airline had suspended services to the Middle East, parts of Europe, and North America on Monday after several countries closed their airspaces amid heightened regional instability.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Air India said, “Flights to and from Europe, previously cancelled, are also being progressively reinstated from today, while services to and from the East Coast of the US and Canada will resume at the earliest opportunity.”
The airline cautioned that while normalcy is being restored, some flights may still face delays or cancellations due to extended re-routings and operational adjustments.
“We are committed to minimising disruptions and restoring our schedule integrity. Air India will continue to avoid airspaces assessed as unsafe at any given time,” the statement added.
The resumption of services comes as a relief to thousands of passengers affected by the sudden disruption in international travel plans and marks a step toward normalcy as tensions in the region show signs of easing.
