CHANDIGARH/MOHALI – Veteran architect Pritpal Singh Ahluwalia has stepped into the role of Chairman for the Indian Institute of Architects Punjab Chapter after winning 61 percent of the total votes cast in the state elections. The simultaneous online voting process allowed wide participation from members belonging to centers in Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Mohali, Bathinda, Kapurthala, and Hoshiarpur.
Addressing the fraternity after the announcement, Ahluwalia maintained that the primary goal under his leadership will be advancing professional development, fostering unity, and enabling seamless knowledge exchange. He asserted that the chapter will prioritize seamless coordination across regional centers alongside smooth collaboration with key stakeholders and government agencies to enhance the architectural landscape across Punjab.
The newly formed state leadership team includes Vice Chairman Dinesh Bhagat of Jalandhar, Joint Secretaries Rajan Tangri from Ludhiana and Sanjay Kumar from Jalandhar, and Treasurer R.S. Sandhu. Ten executive members were also elected to represent different districts, including Ravinder Singh, Pooja Varmani, Sanchi Goyal, Prabhpreet Singh, and Simranjit Singh from Ludhiana; Rajinder Kaur and Amanjit Kaur from Mohali; and Rakesh Arora, Manisha Jindal, and Mohan Singh from Patiala.
Ahluwalia, a practicing architect operating across Mohali and Patiala who also serves as Director of Ludhiana Smart City Limited, declared his appreciation to the fraternity for their faith in his leadership. He affirmed that the incoming team plans to work together to expand professional avenues and increase member involvement across every district in the state.
