The announcement arrives days after Penguin Random House India exited the project, citing editorial veracity challenges during internal assessments. The publishing house affirmed that the book will hit Indian bookstores on November 10, 2026, coinciding with its scheduled international release.
The upcoming title traces Gandhi’s complex public and personal journey, examining her initial foray into politics and her tenure leading the Congress party through major electoral transitions. Industry observers noted that the book addresses personal scrutiny surrounding her identity, her strategic leadership during the 2004 United Progressive Alliance victory, and her working relationships across ideological lines.
