Chandigarh, Nov 3: The Special CBI Court in Panchkula concluded legal proceedings in the 11-year-old Raxil fungicide case after formally accepting the closure report presented by the investigating agency.

The decision brings an end to the inquiry concerning former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and agriculture department officials regarding the approval of wheat seed treatment protocols in 2010.

In its ruling, the court declared that the extensive inquiry conducted over the years failed to produce evidence establishing criminal intent, dishonest decision-making, or financial loss to the state exchequer.

Legal observers noted that the case, which was registered in August 2015 following administrative reviews, stands closed after the court concurred with the findings of the investigating team.
