Chandigarh: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann rolled out the latest tranche of ₹1,291 crore under the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, benefiting over 37.43 lakh women during a state event in Abohar.
Addressing the gathering, Mann maintained that the scheme is structured to return public tax funds directly to citizens through social welfare and public infrastructure investments. With 80.05 lakh women registered as of late October 2026, the state administration aims to expand the beneficiary pool to one crore women, incurring an annual outlay of approximately ₹12,000 crore.
The Chief Minister declared that the government remains committed to universal eligibility regardless of political affiliation or family composition. He confirmed that upcoming transfers are scheduled for December 1 and January 1, framing the latter as a New Year payout for registered recipients.
Mann also asserted that key governance benchmarks—including the provision of over 70,000 merit-based government jobs and canal water access across 60.3 lakh acres—demonstrate the administration’s broader commitment to state development.
