MOGA, July 26 — Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated the 120-bed NABH-accredited Capital Hospital in Moga, marking a major boost to specialized medical care across the Malwa region.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Chief Minister affirmed that the state-of-the-art multi-speciality facility will allow residents to access treatment for serious illnesses locally, eliminating the need to travel to far-off cities.
“Education and healthcare remain the top priorities of our government, as they form the strongest pillars of inclusive development. With the opening of this modern hospital, equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical capabilities, people across the Malwa region will now receive high-quality treatment right at their doorstep,” Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated.
In a communication shared on X, the Chief Minister maintained, “Today, I dedicated the 120-bed state-of-the-art Capital Hospital in Moga to the people of Punjab. Equipped with advanced medical facilities, the hospital will also provide free treatment under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana. Now, people across the Malwa region will no longer have to travel to distant cities for quality healthcare.”
The Chief Minister noted that eligible patients can receive cashless treatment under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna and the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme at the newly opened hospital.
Reflecting on the broader expansion of healthcare and social security, the Chief Minister declared that Punjab has pioneered universal healthcare by extending up to ₹10 lakh in annual cashless treatment to every resident family. He added that citizens have already availed cashless treatment worth over ₹650 crore under the initiative.
Alongside healthcare infrastructure, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann drew attention to key achievements in public education and safety. He stated that state reforms have propelled Punjab to the top rank in school education nationally, pointing out that 881 government school students cleared the NEET examination this year compared to just 82 in 2022.
He further affirmed that the state’s Sadak Surakhya Force, deployed with 144 specialized vehicles, has successfully reduced road accident fatalities by nearly 50 percent since its launch.
