Chandigarh/Bathinda: Organizers of ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan’ have finalized arrangements for the fourth season of the statewide sporting tournament in Bathinda, introducing expanded age brackets and inclusive para-sports categories. Media In-charge Baltej Pannu declared that the state torch relay, which has traveled across various districts since August 12, received widespread engagement from local communities and veteran athletes. The games aim to strengthen grassroots athletic participation while offering substantial monetary and career support to high-performing sportspersons.
The administration continues to focus on long-term athlete welfare, having recently conferred the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Awards on 85 sportspersons alongside offering executive employment opportunities in state services to top medalists. Pannu asserted that timely disbursement of financial rewards remains a key priority, noting that prompt payouts were delivered to national team members following recent international victories.
Local grounds across thousands of villages are being systematically upgraded with lighting and modern training infrastructure to support daily practice in football, volleyball, and traditional sports.
