New Delhi, July 25: Congress leaders described the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as a testament to the resolve of millions of students across the nation, while clarifying that efforts toward comprehensive educational reform will proceed unabated. Party officials maintained that administrative changes at the ministerial level mark an important initial phase in addressing public concerns over testing procedures.
The political organization called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the youth directly regarding recent examination difficulties, while advocating for protective measures for student demonstrators.
Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal declared the resignation a “victory for India’s youth,” attributing the outcome to the persistent advocacy of young citizens nationwide.
“The determination of millions of students has compelled action,” Venugopal stated, affirming that parliamentary representatives will continue working alongside student groups to ensure transparent examination governance and reduce stress among aspirants.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge maintained that the voice of the student movement had successfully penetrated an “arrogant government.” Kharge declared that the step represents a validation for families impacted by examination discrepancies and urged central authorities to express formal regret to the nation’s youth.
Expanding on structural governance concerns, Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh asserted that prolonged hesitation in addressing testing controversies had eroded public confidence. Ramesh noted that crucial leadership positions within national evaluation bodies remained unfilled for extended periods following initial paper leak reports. He also referred to pending reviews regarding digital evaluation procurement contracts and parliamentary committee suggestions on agency restructuring, maintaining that policy reforms must be fully implemented to rebuild trust in higher education institutions.
