CHANDIGARH, OCT 1: Monthly Goods and Services Tax receipts for Chandigarh reached Rs 238 crore in September 2026, marking a modest 4 per cent increase from the Rs 229 crore collected in September 2025. Data released by the Ministry of Finance indicates that the result marks the third consecutive month of moderating growth for the city’s tax collections.

Chandigarh’s performance remained below the national domestic growth rate of 10.1 per cent for the month. While neighboring states such as Punjab and Delhi demonstrated stronger revenue trajectories with 18 per cent and 12 per cent gains respectively, Haryana recorded a slower growth rate of 2 per cent.

The September figures highlight ongoing shifts in monthly revenue generation across neighboring northern jurisdictions. Local administration and tax authorities continue to monitor revenue trends as fiscal quarters progress.
