NEW DELHI, OCT 16: Security forces intercepted and detained CJP head Abhijeet Dipke and AISA member Neha Bora on Friday to head off an unsanctioned demonstration in central Delhi.
Police personnel stopped Dipke during his transit to Central Park in Connaught Place, while Bora was picked up by law enforcement officers close to Mandi House as her group attempted to move toward the demonstration zone.
The preventive police action stems from ongoing tensions following the detention of CJP figures Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, who were remanded to judicial custody after entering Jantar Mantar following its official de-notification for public demonstrations.
Law enforcement agencies pre-emptively issued notices barring the gathering at Connaught Place, emphasizing that the commercial district is not a sanctioned protest site. In anticipation of potential gatherings, police personnel cordoned off Central Park and established security corridors surrounding Rajiv Chowk, Palika Bazaar, and surrounding transit points to maintain public order.
