Chandigarh: With state elections approaching, the Aam Aadmi Party has elevated Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema to its ten-member Political Affairs Committee. Party co-incharge Satyendar Jain has also been named to the committee, while Chief Minister Mann transitions from a special invitee to a permanent member.

Organizational representation from the state was further expanded with the inclusion of Chief Minister’s OSD Rajbir Ghuman and Bibhav Kumar in the twenty-three-member National Executive. Recent reports noted that Ghuman’s name appeared during an ongoing investigation by the Enforcement Directorate into administrative transfer and land-related matters.

The reshuffle reflects the crucial position Punjab holds within the national framework of the party. Adding senior governance figures like Cheema ensures stronger representation of the state leadership in shaping overall campaign direction.

By formalizing these roles, the party aims to streamline coordination between central functionaries and the state unit. The organizational restructuring indicates a focused approach toward presenting its governance record and managing key state issues as campaign preparations intensify.
