Representatives from the agricultural equipment manufacturing sector reported that industrial natural gas costs nearly doubled over a six-month period, placing tight profit margins under pressure across local MSMEs.
The Karnal Agricultural Implements Manufacturers Association highlighted the operational challenges faced by exporters who accept advance orders based on prevailing energy rates. Industry leaders declared that unannounced price revisions hamper cost estimation and create financial disadvantages compared to manufacturing hubs operating under different state tax structures.
To protect industrial sustainability, representatives submitted a proposal requesting that fuel supplies be transitionally integrated into the GST regime. The organization maintained that enabling Input Tax Credit mechanism alongside a mandatory advance notification period for tariff updates will help stabilize production planning and support industrial growth across the district.
