Chandigarh, Oct 23: Protests may soon move to the national capital if the Election Commission of India does not quickly approve the registration of ‘Waris Punjab De’, according to statements made in the Punjab Assembly. MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali raised the issue during house proceedings, claiming that political pressure from the central government is stalling the process.
Ayali criticized the ongoing delays, pointing out that national security concerns are being used as a pretext to hold up approval. Ayali remarked during the session that his party fulfilled all necessary conditions and submitted all required documents, making the administrative hold-up entirely unfounded. He urged the election body to complete the formal procedure immediately.
The legislator maintained that the opposition parties are actively orchestrating these roadblocks because they fear the rising popularity of the new organization. By raising the matter in the state assembly, Ayali sought to draw immediate attention to the broader political implications of the delay ahead of potential street demonstrations.
