CHANDIGARH, Dec. 11 — Days after the killing of Inderpreet “Parry” Singh in a targeted shooting in Sector 26, Chandigarh Police arrested a Kharar man accused of providing the car used by the attackers. Police identified the suspect as 40-year-old Rahul, who was arrested late Tuesday night by the district crime cell team led by Inspector Jaspal Singh Bhullar.
Police said Rahul, described as a drug addict with minor criminal history, told investigators he delivered a stolen white Hyundai Creta to the shooters in Ludhiana on November 29. “He facilitated the vehicle transfer, and we are now tracing his links to the larger network,” an officer said.
The Creta was stolen from Kota, Rajasthan, in 2024. According to police, it circulated through several people in the illegal vehicle market before landing with Rahul. After the murder, the SUV was found abandoned at Mansa Devi Complex in Panchkula, bearing forged plates and a tampered chassis number.
Investigators believe the attackers used intermediaries to mask their trail. One of the suspected shooters is thought to be Piyush Piplani, a close associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and wanted in the Sonu Nolta murder case.
Parry was killed on December 1 after leaving a night club. Police said the assailant sitting next to him inside his Kia Seltos fired first, followed seconds later by gunmen arriving in the Creta, who shot repeatedly before escaping toward Panchkula. Parry was rushed to the hospital but died from multiple gunshot wounds.
