Zirakpur, June 11, 2025 — In a late-night crackdown, Punjab Police busted a gambling racket at KC Royal Hotel in Zirakpur, arresting 16 individuals including hotel staff, officials said Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a planned raid at the hotel premises, where the suspects were caught red-handed while participating in gambling activities. “During a meticulously planned raid, 16 persons, including hotel staff, were apprehended while engaged in gambling,” Punjab Police said in a post on X.
Authorities recovered ₹25.30 lakh in cash, 13 mobile phones, and six cars from the site. The seized items are being examined for possible links to a wider network.
A case has been registered under the Gambling Act at the Zirakpur police station, and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the funds and determine whether the hotel premises were routinely being used for illegal activities.
