Government Job Recruitment Reaches 69,094 Milestone in Punjab

State hands over fresh appointment letters across health, finance, and home departments

Mohali, August 9: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann handed over 866 appointment letters to newly selected candidates at an event in SAS Nagar, Mohali, declaring that the state government has delivered nearly 70,000 jobs through a transparent selection process. The Chief Minister affirmed that the state administration has eliminated political influence and nepotism from public recruitment.

The official distribution included 636 personnel joining the Health and Family Welfare Department, comprising nurses, pharmacists, and support staff. Additionally, 101 candidates received postings in Sugarfed, 57 in the Finance Department, 51 in Defence Services Welfare, 11 in the Cooperative Department, and 10 Law Officers in the Home Department.

The Chief Minister asserted that establishing a fair recruitment system has encouraged local talent to pursue careers within the state rather than seeking opportunities overseas. He stated that the government remains committed to creating sustainable employment opportunities across every town and village in Punjab.

Highlighting broader public sector achievements, the Chief Minister maintained that public school education in Punjab has undergone significant reform, moving up from previous national rankings to lead in school infrastructure and academic performance. He noted that teacher training initiatives and upgraded facilities have directly improved student outcomes in national competitive exams.

The Chief Minister asserted that access to quality education and fair employment opportunities remain the most effective tools for social empowerment, assuring the public that transparent governance will continue to guide future recruitments.
