Chandigarh, August 9: Aam Aadmi Party leader Baltej Pannu asserted that the Shiromani Akali Dal has lost significant public trust due to repeated U-turns on major policy issues. Addressing news reporters in Chandigarh, the AAP Punjab Media Incharge declared that Akali chief Sukhbir Singh Badal is now expressing agreement with several Central Bills despite previous disagreements and policy shifts.
The ruling party official maintained that the Badal family initially endorsed the controversial farm laws through public messages before reversing their stance under public pressure. He affirmed that such changing approaches demonstrate a pattern of adjusting political positions to suit prevailing circumstances.
Highlighting past political statements, the AAP spokesperson recalled that the Akali chief had previously made strong remarks about politicians joining the BJP. He noted that despite those earlier declarations, the Akali leadership now appears eager to reach a compromise with the Central governing party to revive its regional presence.
The AAP media chief declared that the people of Punjab are well aware of the political history of the state’s leadership. He asserted that attempts to rebuild political ground through fresh alliances would not succeed, as the public favors principled governance over changing political strategies.
