NEW DELHI — Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed that federal authorities have committed to maintaining unhindered electricity and coal allocations to satisfy regional industrial and farming requirements.

The high-level meeting with Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar covered critical operational metrics for the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, resolving potential bottlenecks in coal transport from external reserves while protecting the state’s hydropower infrastructure.

The Chief Minister highlighted that steady energy resources are indispensable as the state fulfills its obligation to contribute massive foodgrain reserves to the nation.

“We have also been in touch with Coal India and the Jharkhand Government regarding coal supplies from the Pachhwara coal mines. Our priority is to ensure that coal supplies remain uninterrupted so that Punjab can continue generating electricity without any disruption,” Mann affirmed.

Commenting on separate political and governance controversies, the Chief Minister condemned opposition attempts to politicize the tragic social activist murder in Mansa, promising strict legal accountability for all conspirators while outlining fresh legal steps to strengthen stalled investigations into past sacrilege incidents.
