Chandigarh, July 19: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed that the state’s financial resources remain robust and fully dedicated to public welfare, challenging historical claims regarding budget deficits. Joining community celebrations in Pathankot, the Chief Minister asserted that rigorous oversight of public funds has effectively curbed institutional leakages, ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of local welfare programs and infrastructural upgrades.
The administration emphasized that the state’s socio-cultural fabric remains fundamentally resilient against divisive influences, describing Punjab’s diverse religious observances, historical milestones, and freedom fighter legacies as collectively shared treasures.
The ongoing governance strategy focuses on restoring regional prosperity and generating local employment rather than replicating foreign urban designs, with an explicit focus on building a self-reliant economy.
“Punjab’s soil is so fertile that every seed grows here, but the seed of hatred can never grow,” Chief Minister Mann stated, describing the strong community bonds observed across various regional festivals. He maintained that public treasuries are meant exclusively for citizen support, adding, “The treasury is always open for the people because the treasury belongs to the people. It is my duty to stop leakages.”
Current administrative data indicates that approximately ninety percent of domestic households across the province are now receiving zero-amount electricity statements due to ongoing power subsidies. Furthermore, the expansion of local public sectors has led to the creation of roughly sixty thousand state positions for young professionals, alongside the provision of ten-lakh-rupee health insurance packages for families.
The executive leadership concluded by reiterating their focus on resolving foundational challenges such as unemployment and substance abuse through comprehensive development.
“We do not need to make Punjab into California, London or Paris,” Mann declared, calling for joint civic participation to revitalize local communities. He asserted that regional progress depends on collective unity, stating, “We need to make Punjab a better Punjab. We have to make Punjab a Rangla Punjab.”
