Haryana Enforces Strict Crackers Guidelines Ahead of Festive Season

Complete online sales ban implemented across non-NCR zones alongside strict timing restrictions

Chandigarh, Oct 30: The Haryana State Pollution Control Board has issued urgent compliance instructions enforcing a blanket ban on conventional firecrackers and restricting green cracker usage across non-NCR districts.

Government guidelines prohibit the use of barium salts and series firecrackers state-wide to curb rising seasonal PM2.5 and PM10 levels. In non-NCR areas where green crackers are permitted, bursting hours are limited to 8 pm to 10 pm for Diwali and Gurpurab, and 11:55 pm to 12:30 am on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Officials asserted that law enforcement agencies and district commissioners have been instructed to monitor physical markets and prevent digital order fulfillments. Authorities noted that the measures align with judicial directions designed to reduce hazardous emissions during winter months.

Civil society representatives declared that institutional vigilance must match legal notifications to prevent illegal distribution, particularly in heavily populated urban corridors adjoining the national capital.
