Chandigarh, July 16: Haryana has emerged as the frontrunner in medical education infrastructure across the northern region by securing 2,960 MBBS seats for the upcoming academic year. According to the latest seat matrix released by the National Medical Commission (NMC), these undergraduate seats will be open for admission across 18 medical institutions in the state.

The state added 250 new medical seats this year to its existing base, with the entire expansion taking place within private medical institutions. Meanwhile, the intake capacity for government run institutions remains steady, offering a collective total of 1,060 seats across eight state establishments.

The regulatory body affirmed that all admissions must align strictly with the approved seat matrix. Under the updated guidelines, private-sector expansion has elevated the overall seat availability, whereas the government sector maintains its previous seat allocations.

Representatives from state medical assessment bodies declared that the stable intake in government institutes ensures the continued maintenance of academic resources and clinical training standards. They maintained that the expanded private sector capacity will broaden opportunities for local aspirants seeking admissions closer to home.

The detailed distribution of seats across the state’s government and private medical institutions highlights the current options available to candidates.
