Kabaddi Icons Align With Administration

Grassroots Sports Leadership Shifts to AAP

by TheReportingTimes

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 3 — The state’s ruling party expanded its organizational reach into the regional sports sector as multiple national and international kabaddi players officially assumed party memberships.

The transition was formalized during a central briefing where Rajbir Singh Ghuman, representing the chief minister’s executive office, welcomed the sports figures into the political fold. Ghuman asserted that the induction of widely recognized athletes provides clear evidence that the administration’s ongoing public welfare initiatives resonate directly with the state’s youth icons.

The alignment alters the local political landscape by bringing high-profile athletic influencers into institutional advocacy roles. International players Kinda Biharipuria, Jeeta Badalgarh, Babbu Jhaneri, and Saima Ghrachon led the athletic group, signalling a unified shift among traditional sports leaders.

The newcomers maintained that the current administration’s focus on building transparent public systems and expanding job access for young people motivated their entry into formal politics.

“The growing support from respected sportspersons and youth leaders reflects the people’s trust in the policies and governance of the AAP government,” Ghuman declared, affirming that the influx of talent will strengthen institutional communication with rural communities.

The organizational expansion extended beyond active players to incorporate essential regulatory and commentary figures from the sport. Veteran referee Satgur Jhaneri and international commentator Kulbir Timberwal joined the party structure, bringing technical and media sports experience to the group.

They were accompanied by regional competitors Malkit Singh and Barinder Singh, alongside civic organizers Amrinder Singh Rorian, Satnam Singh Virk, Manjot Singh, and Hardeep Singh.

The newly inducted sports ambassadors stated that the visible investments made by the government in public infrastructure served as a deciding factor for their enrollment. They asserted a shared commitment to advance the state’s development goals, expressing a desire to apply their collective platform to encourage constructive civic engagement among the younger demographics across Punjab.
