Jalandhar, August 28: A passing out ceremony at the PAP Ground in Jalandhar marked the formal induction of one thousand seven hundred and forty-six new constables into the state police service on Thursday. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann presented the official appointment documents, highlighting that overall state recruitment efforts have delivered over seventy thousand public sector positions based entirely on merit.
The recruitment drive strengthens operational capacity across border districts, bringing total police force additions to over thirteen thousand personnel in recent years while recruitment continues for over three thousand additional constable roles.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann maintained that the selection system guarantees equal opportunity for candidates from all backgrounds without nepotism or corrupt practices.
The administration also announced institutional career growth measures, sanctioning sixteen hundred departmental promotion slots across Inspector, Sub-Inspector, and Assistant Sub-Inspector ranks within the district cadre.
Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that Punjab maintains leading salary benchmarks for public servants to ensure high administrative performance and dedication to public welfare.
The Chief Minister affirmed that law enforcement agencies continue targeted operations against drug syndicates, noting that thousands of offenders have been detained and illicit assets confiscated under ongoing state enforcement programs.
Bhagwant Singh Mann maintained that anti-social elements attempting to disrupt regional harmony will not succeed against a modernized and well-equipped police force.
Senior state leadership, including Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat and Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, participated in the formal proceedings.
